Orange Blossom Oolong - Zhi Tea

Today's tea is the Orange Blossom Oolong from Zhi Tea. Zhi specializes in organic teas. This was a sample the company sent as part of a promotional campaign to bloggers. The Orange Blossom Oolong is a Sechong Oolong with organic orange peel and Calendula marigold petals. Sechong Oolong is from the Fujian province of China. The dry leaf is beautiful and chocolate-y brown with beautiful yellow marigold petals and large pieces of orange zest. The scent was bright and citrusy.

This is a really lovely tea. The aroma was deep, dark, and woodsy with a very slight orange note. The taste, however, was unmistakably orange. It wasn't the sweet, artificial orange that some teas sport. It was bright and beautiful and full bodied. The dark oolong provided a fantastic depth and complexity. This was a really well done tea.
