God's Gift of Seasons

From early spring to October's autumn,
the mountain changes at it's whim.
Always tranquil and quiet,
life's cycle can be seen each
passing week.

In this photo taken early this spring,
snow can be seen on the mountain peaks
in the distance. Fog and snow,
cold breezes, and passing clouds
distinguish this season from another.

The summer months came and went,
leaving a very nearby forest fire
as an unwelcome guest.
Colorful flowers, ferns, wildlife,
and birds created beauty
and serenity each hot day.

Now autumn takes it's turn.
Yesterday rose hips, dried yarrow,
tamarack turning golden,
dandelion seeds floating through the air,
yellowed and dried ferns, yew branches, and
the pretty heart-shaped leaves of the
wild ginger were seen and enjoyed.
An elk bugled in the distance
and a family of deer looked at us
curiously as we passed by.

Each season brings forth it's own
beauty and tranquility.
Soon it will be time to board up the
doors and windows, closing things
away for the deep snows of winter. . .
to await the first call of
spring again next year.

The seasons; a gift of God.
