Forte - Tea Forte

Today's tea is Forte by Tea Forte. I have definitely extolled my love for their products in the past. I have also confessed that the fact that they were the first non-traditional tea bag I was exposed to gives them a special place in my heart.

That being said, this was not my favorite. The first cup I made I brewed the tea for 4 minutes. Tea Forte suggests a steeping time of 3 - 5 minutes. I like a slightly stronger brew but didn't want to oversteep so I tried 4 minutes. My first sip told me I had made a tragic mistake. It was terribly bitter.

The 3 minute steep time gave me a relatively weak brew. The Forte is a Ceylon with jasmine so perhaps it is partly that I'm used to drinking heartier teas like Assams and Darjeelings of late. It wasn't a bad tea, just nothing to write home about. Their other teas have been so lovely that I will definitely continue to recommend them as a product line.

Comment: I would brew this tea for 3 1/2 minutes for the best results. I look forward to giving Tea Forte's new Dolce Vita line a try as well.
