The Lighthouse

Today I'm missing the sea. The sea in winter has so many personalities. Calm, balmy, and serene can become grey and angry at whim. Both extremes are interesting to experience and observe. Crashing waves. . .sandy beaches. . .the smell of seaweed. . .the breeze in your face. . .moments that stimulate the senses and create memories to take back home. Alone or with friends, the sea provides a place to ponder and become centered again after the stresses of life's routine and schedule. Wonderful treasures litter the ocean shores --- nature's themes of rocks and shells, lighthouses, boats and harbors, quaint shops, and eccentric cafes with fishy foods. Tea rooms with names like "Tea by the Sea" and "Tea and Tome" provide out of the way places to stop by for a cuppa tea and bite of scone. Yes, I'm missing the sea today. I escape the fog and landscape bleak by viewing pictures of the sea. . .and I remember the good times.
