Tra Que Chai - Tealuxe

Today's tea is another chai from Tealuxe. Today I tried the Tra Que Cha, the last of the chais I will review from them. (But I'm excited to say I just received a few other samples of different teas from them....) The dry leaf was very fine, dark and mixed with honey colored pieces of cinnamon. This tea uses cinnamon from Vietnam, along with nutmeg, cloves, and black tea.

The aroma of this tea was absolutely irresistable. It actually made my nose tingle. I couldn't put it down. It seemed like one of those teas that you curl up on the couch with so you can feel its warmth and smell its aroma.

This chai was smooth with a slight bite to it. It was not as complex as some other chais - the cinnamon was the predominant flavor - but it worked. It was a pleasant chai, creamy and rich. The clove notes melded nicely with the milk, supplementing, not competing, with the cinnamon and tea flavors.

Tea: Tra Que Chai
Source: Tealuxe
Type: Black tea chai
Brewing details: 1 1/2 tsp at 212 degrees for 6 minutes. I added raw sugar as a sweetener and 1/3 cup of warmed milk.
Comment: This was another nice chai offering from Tealuxe. I still think the Masala Chai and Kashmiri Chai are still my favorites from them, but this is another great choice.
