When you entertain, I think it's important to create an ambiance, so that when your guests arrive, the mood is set!
When friends arrived last night I had placed on my coffee table a bottle of chilled Don Ruinart Champagne, 6 tall and different Champagne glasses on a red lacquer square tray, a small Chinese plate with a hand painted dragon with little canapes. As I was writing this post I learned that Ruinart is the oldest producer of my favorite beverage, Champagne. They have been producing bubbles since .. 1729! I had a somptuous bouquet with tea color roses and other flowers given to me a few days ago. I had lit two thick beige candles held by stout dark shiny glass candle holders. It was warm and cozy, I believe.
I like to dress tables as best as I can! As we're near Easter, I placed two white bone china egg crates with a dozen or so stone eggs I bought many many years ago in Zimbabwe, South Africa and Brazil.
It is common to receive flowers when you have guests and I have been spoiled - my friends knew my birthday is end of March! This azalea is so delicate on its fragile stem! It adds a note of color to the white shade of my lamp.
I also received a delightful yet simple bouquet of wild flowers in shades of pink - one of my favorite colors.
Will tell you about the menu tomorrow!
